The Sheriff's office is responsible in enforcing state and county laws within the county.
Reports of, and Investigation of, thefts, vandalisms, assaults, illegal drug activity, reported child and /or domestic abuse accidents and all other criminalallegations. Deputies are also responsible for the enforcement of traffic laws.

Original notices and petitions, garnishments, orders, sheriff sales, room and board reimbursements, evictions, protective orders and restraining orders, involuntary commitment of persons with mental illness and/or substance abuse, duties related to condemnation of private property and the execution and return all writs and other legal processes issued by lawful authority.
The Sheriff’s Office patrols the 432 square miles of the county and is the chief law enforcement for the cities of Hillsboro, Lowell, Mount Union, Olds, Rome, Salem, Swedesburg, Trenton, Westwood, and all other unincorporated areas of Henry County.
The Sheriff’s Office provides 24 hour dispatching of Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS Services within Henry County.
The Sheriff’s Office is located in the Henry County Law Enforcement Center.The Sheriff's Office is a member of MOCIC and
full - time employees are members of the IA State Sheriff's and deputies association. The Sheriff's Office is also a member of the Mt. Pleasant Chamber of Commerce.
The Henry County Jail has a zero tolerance for sexual abuse or sexual harassment whether inmate on inmate, or staff on inmate.
All reported activities shall be handled in a professional manner and treated as criminal activity. Inmates may report an incident
of sexual misconduct either verbally or in written form to:

The IowaVINE system is a service through which victims of crime can use the telephone or internet to search for information regarding the custody status of their offender and to register to receive telephone and email notification when the offender’s custody status changes.
The toll-free number for IowaVINE is 888-7-IAVINE or 888-742-8463.
This service is provided to assist victims of crime who have a right to know about their offender’s custody status.
